Interview con John

January 22nd, 2010

I spoke with a native speaker named John. We had to conversations. We had one in English and one in Spanish. John and I had a good interview. I learned about what he liked to do and he learned what I like to do.

The conversations were a little quiet so it was hard to understand what we were saying. The first interview was in Spanish. When John told me he liked Hunterdon Central, I could have went off on that subject and asked him why he like it here. We had a couple of similarities in our interview. He told me he black_lab_tideat2blike baseball so I asked him what his favorite team was. I found out that John likes the New York Yankees too. We also both have one pet, a dog, but I have a black lab and he has a boxer. brindle_boxer_dog_h02

The second conversation we had was in English to help John on his English. In this interview, I learned that he likes to hang out with friends on the weekend. I also like to spend time time with my friends and family on the weekend.

Ir de compras

January 19th, 2010

Preterite Tense Verbs

January 18th, 2010

Recently, I have been having trouble with preterite tense verbs. I don’t know when to apply the right ending to the end of the verb being used. I found a very heplful website. The website has a guide before the quiz to teach the right preterite tense endings and when to use them. It also has a chart on the bottom of the page with the right enddings according to each form of verb; AR, ER, IR. When you have read and mastered the page on preterite tense, you can start the quiz. The first time I took the quiz, I did poorly. But as I read on and retook the quiz, I ended up doing really good. This is the site

Interview con Silvino

December 15th, 2009

This was our first video. Jon was videotaping while i was interviewing. Jon was not in this video but will be in the next one. Even though Jon wasn’t in it, he helped make questions. I think we did a great job. We were loud enough to hear and we had good follow up questions. I had been corrected a few times by Silvino, but that is how we learn. Since it was our first time meeting, it was a little hard. I believe if we interviewed Silvino again, we will be more flowing and it will be an understandable conversation.

Conversation with native speaker

October 18th, 2009

Ana Valladares, 12 14 PM, Sunday, 18 October 2009

Tom and I spoke with a lady from Spain. Her name was Ana. She was 23 years old.

Did well- In this conversation, Tom and I did well because we had a good conversation. We were asking and answering questions and we didn’t have many long pauses. We also didn’t have to go through our papers that much.

Need to do better- We need to tell them to repeat so we can understand them better. Some times we would just guess her questions and answer. But overall, we did pretty good.

Spanish Speaking

October 11th, 2009

This past week, we were trying to chat with people around the world. Tom found some one to talk to. He and I spoke to the man from another country, through a microphone. He was learning English while we were learning Spanish. It was interesting to hear him speak English with an accent.

Song Project

October 8th, 2009

I have already talked to a man from across the country! I didn’t get that much time because he was at work but it was fun. My partner and I just finished a Spanish song. I learned a lot about the Spanish alphabet because we had to spell out each word. It helped my pronunciation in Spanish. Here is my Spanish song.
